Motorcycle Head
Injuries.
Blunt TBI = Non penatrating closed head injury
My brain injury was brain shaken in skull
Mild or Serious
Caught
lower part of
body on handlebars, Body trauma.
Medical records lost arround 1993 moved doctors.
I ignored medical advise in 1984, grand mal at work.
See 'Headway pdf's.
Head Injuries how serious. Usually worked out using admitance.
Firstly during recovery your speech may be impaired. Understanding others & text.
You never know when or how much you will recall.
In
conversation you'll join in then jump in rudley before you forget what you want to
say.
I break memory down into 3 bits, long term, short term & habits.
If I don't maintain my habbits then I will forget them.
Epilepsy from
motor accidents the side effects sometimes permanent.
Stress &
illness may affect your recall (memory) PTSD. Later milder. Mental problems do reduce but change.
You do get slower at dealing with
things with age (age related), you may misinterpret
what is said.
Week mind some easily led.
Initially TBI leads to PTA = Post-traumatic amnesia
then PTSD or Post traumatic stress disorder.
Detailed memory from the accident you may never recall it's what you recorded in your brain.
School days, deep depression, recall some bits.
You'll find it easier to recall bad memories. Your brain naturally protects what you recall.
With focal
epilepsy it's advisable not to work using a grill with flashing lights.
Hissing in your ears, can be related. If you have problems
with your hearing like occasional hissing in the ears it can lead to tinnitus.
I remained in hospital for weeks after 23-8-82
To
my knowledge nurologists & admin were trying to find a place for me to go. They knew my parents had other problems.
I can’t say I know exactly what happened. I relayed what I thought happened.
More than 6hrs, serious.
Information retrieval, still seen as memory disorder, see diagrahm.
When
I'm ill & under
stress 'information recall' gets worse, I think because you are trying to
deal with illness & repair your memory. I discovered diagram below. I hope it’s helpful.
After much thought the main problem is What you have lost!
The diagram below shows what can be effected in the brain by TBI.
'Denial breeds
contempt. Contempt breeds dislike',
I recall I had problems
with smells,
tastes & balance, seeing faces I thought I knew, etc. Lots now could be associated with age & weight.
'Information Retrieval' problems can become permanent.
I needed good reliable friends. On TV a documentary of a man married returned to his
home. Good friends reminded him who he was & about his family. You
do forget the memory of feelings & needed good
friends.
You may have anxiety attackes later due to stress & coping.
